Westcliff Community Garden ðŠī Project
Wed 28 Jul 2021The Community Garden project aims to provide a welcome green space for the community whilst improving health, wellbeing and educational opportunities. We plan to create a wellbeing garden that can be used by groups and individuals within the local area as well as the school community.
The garden will have several different areas and uses; a growing area for outdoor learning to teach children about nature and where our food comes from, a mindful/wellbeing area for some quiet space after the pandemic, a hive of activity for nature to flourish and to encourage wildlife into the garden, including a bug hotel. We will also have a picnic and wildflower area for families to come together. Within the garden area we will have a memorial for Louis, who was a pupil at the school.
We have some dedicated volunteers who have been clearing the site and getting it ready for the Autumn and the new growing season beyond. What we need now is to raise some funds for exterior paint, fencing and tools to help get us started.
Thank you so much for donations made so far! If you would like to volunteer to help or to donate plants or seeds please get in touch via the Facebook page.

CAP Workshops
Mon 05 Jul 2021CAP UK is a school-based project that works with the whole school community to reduce children’s vulnerability to abuse. CAP equips children with the skills and strategies necessary to stay safe from harm and encourages them to grow up to be strong and confident young people.
Our project generally works with primary aged children, and we will be working with the children in your school this Summer Term The workshops will run on the 12th,13th and 14th of July and the 19th,20th and 21st of July 2021 with each class having a total of three hours of workshops. The content of the workshops will include keeping safe around other children, around strangers, and also the people that they do know. The years 2,3,4,5 and 6 classes will also learn about keeping safe on-line.
The format of the workshops will be a combination of role-plays and group discussion and the Rec and YR 1 classes will also be having a puppet show.
We very much look forward to working with your children to help to keep them SAFE STRONG and FREE and to empower them to keep safe in all situations. For more general information about our charity please visit our web site or you can click on the link below which takes you directly to our Parents page where you can watch a short film about our CAP workshops.
