Autumn 🍂 Term 1 2023

Our EYFS children have settled really well into school, they have been busy learning routines and making new friends. We have enjoyed lots of story telling and activities related to stories such as a 'Stick man hunt' and a 'Room on the Broom' adventure. We have launched 'Drawing Club', which encourages story telling through pictures, and teaches vocabulary with actions. The children love it and have produced some amazing drawings.

The children have had daily phonics lessons all half term and many are now recognising letters and beginning to blend them together to read words. We teach phonics every day at 10.30, if you would like to observe a lesson to find out more about how we teach reading and writing, please book in with class teachers.

In Maths we have been practising our subitising skills (saying how many without needing to count) with objects up to 4. We have also been representing numbers up to 5 on our fingers.
