In year 5 and 6 we learn to play the guitar. we learn to play short melodies and to strum some chords. We read music notation of crotchets, crotchet rests, minims, semibreves and paired quavers.

In this video we are strumming a simple rhythm (crotchets and semibreves) and changing between the G and D chords.

In Year 4 we learn to play the djembe drums. We learn hand techniques to make different tones and we learn to read rhythms in notation.

In Year 2 we learn to read dot and stick notation to play a simple tune on the glockenspiel.

In Year 2 we start learning to read stick and dot notation. We enjoy creating our own rhythms and performing them.

In Year 3 we learn to play the recorder. We learn to read staff notation and compose our own tunes to perform to the class.
